On November 28, 2022, the students of Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad (IHM-A) welcomed on campus Le Cordon Bleu (LCB), Paris with Chef Frédéric Deshayes, Pastry Chef and Instructor to hold a Pastry Masterclass exclusively for them.
LCB and IHM-A have a long relationship which spans many years. With an emphasis on adding value to student learning, this partnership promises greater opportunities to better prepare students for the industry in the future.
This was Chef Frédéric Deshayes second visit to the campus where he shared his skill, experience and knowledge with the students. He emphasised on the importance to adapt to different work conditions in one’s career journey. ‘No excuses, find solutions’ were his pearls of wisdom. He went on to express how France has always been one of the best places for Chefs to hone their culinary skills.
Chef Frédéric, through his masterclass, took the students through the technicalities of preparing two classics, Tarte Á L’Orange (Orange Tart) and Macaron Citronnelle (Lemongrass Macarons). During his demonstration he stressed on the importance of knife skills for a pasrty chef. His skill combined with the gentle care in handling ingredients, and his confidence, were all observed enthusiastically by the students.
At the end of the masterclass the students were excited to taste what the Chef had prepared. The students also received a Participation Certificate from LCB for having attended the session. The students left the session enlightened, with new learnings, and the motto ‘no excuses, find solutions!’
