This training exposure in a live environment, enhances application of knowledge. Internship with industry mentors enhances lifelong relationships. Best in class international collaborations bring a global perspective of contemporary practices.

Industry

Our founding industry partner, Indian Hotels Company Limited lends their expertise through their deputed professionals. Access to India’s largest globally renowned hotel network enhances interactive learning. The benefits of honing the finest talent the country has to offer is also accessed by key international players. From chain hotels to stand alone start-ups the industry support positions the institute in an exclusive category.

Training

On Job Training (OJT) at the ancillary hotel exposes students to the ground realities of operations. Structured schedules are planned after Year 1 in Accomodation, Front Office, Food & Beverage and Food Production Operations. This hands-on learning enhances their performance alongside functional insights. From engineering to security and materials management to sales & marketing no aspect is left uncovered.

I started off my OJT with night shifts at the pantry. On my first day, one of the targets set was to finish 3 juices, 2 milkshakes and 2 smoothies in 2 hours. Although it did not sound like much, I understood how time consuming and difficult it really is. For me, the experience helped me grow as an individual and taught me to work under pressure, in the Vivanta Kitchen, I clearly was able to upgrade my skills.

Keshav – Year 4 – Culinary Arts

We started our virtual internship in RevMan with IHCL in June, amidst the pandemic. Understanding the numeric nature of RevMan over the last 6 months, has pushed me to work on the craft of quantifying and breaking down challenges to find solutions. My biggest takeaway from this internship has been to pay attention to detail in everything I do. All in all, the nature of work to date from this internship, while highly demanding, has been an exciting experience.
